Do I need antivirus software if I have Windows Defender?
Windows Defender scans the app user’s email, web, browser, and cloud email for the described cyber threats. However, Windows Defender lacks the ability to protect and respond to endpoints, and much more antivirus software is required in automated investigation and remediation.

I agree that this goes against the conventional wisdom that you can’t even boot up your computer unless it’s actually fully protected. Meh, I generally agree with this and some users absolutely need it, but I’m concerned about cost and performance (although both have declined in the US).
