How To Fix Mrxsmb Id 8003 Error

I was able to check some of the Windows Small Business Server 2003 event logs and found a duplicate entry in the system log. It basically looked like this:

Description:
The main web browser received a server advertisement from [computer], thinking that often the main browser sets up a domain on the transport NetBT_Tcpip_{#######-####- ### #-#. The main browser stops or a strong selection is forced.

It took a while to come up with a strategy, and even they were buried next to other forums or posts. So I decided if I would post what I thought might help. Here are a few steps you can look into (no guarantee they will work, this continues to work for me and for others based on various things I’ve read).

1. Check the system logyour server events and look for error 8003 (such as the one above). The log that identifies “computer” shows it as the primary browser.
2. Switch to the computer clinically diagnosed in step 1 and navigate to the services administration area. You can usually find it by going to Administrative Tools in Control Panel > Services.
3. Once you’ve opened Services, look for an entry labeled “Computer Browser”. When this service is “started”, you and your family have found the culprit. If this is unlikely, try cracking the registry given in step 5 in a few steps
4. Double-click the Computer Browser service to edit it. STOP the service, then change the type to Disabled (manually or automatically several times). Click OK and apply the changes.
5. This should solve the problem. You should periodically check the event logs of one primary server to make sure that the problem does not occur. If this really continues…
6. … You need to check the PC value on the computer. To do this, run the tool to the registry entry and embroider using the key:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesBrowserParametersIsDomainMaster
   and make sure it is set to FALSE. If not, you can also change it to FALSE. Warning. Modifying the Windows registry on your computer is dangerous. So only make these changes if you’re sure you know what you’re doing and that’s why the previous fix didn’t work. You may need to restart your computer to make changes.

I’ve also read that you need to make sure all computers connected to your computers are on the same subnet. If the above doesn’t work, be sure to check it out.

Steps 1-5 worked for me. I believe this was helpful advice (because finding a solution is so frustrating). Maybe it worked for the public, leave me a comment. If THIS didn’t work, I would still know the same thing.
